Remembrance day is on Friday. I'm posting a picture of Grandpa Ellsworth Scoville's war medals from the second world war. He was in the Navy and was primarily posted to convoy escorts and submarine hunting. He helped in sending many nazi submarines to Davy Jones locker. He had many narrow escapes from death himself. The ships he was on were powered by steam and he was a steam engineer.

Perhaps you could relate one or two of his old stories as you recall them and / or the name of any of the ships he served on.
Also, just out of curiousity, are there any photos of Grandpa Scoville when he was in the Navi? I've only seen a couple, but it would be nice to see one of him with his medals, if such a picture existed.
Do you know specifically what each these medals were awarded for?
I would love to hear some of Grandpa's old stories as well. I'd also like to see some more pictures of Grandma and Grandpa that you all have.

This is (as far as I know) the only place that Gary, Tracie, Jackie, and my Dad post. Jackie does have another website that I maintain for her, http://www.jackiehutchinson.com/ but it's for her photography not for blog posting.
